At Con I had a very profound experience that let me know it was time to return to some very important work that I had been taking a break from. I have been working with Freyr in that regard, and I have been inviting him and Odin into my dreams to help me with that work, with some really potent results. I think that this, in part, is due to the (often denied, but nonetheless widespread) idea that Feri initiation is somehow the culmination of training, when it is actually the beginning. In a coven setting it is common to initiate earlier on and then the entire coven oversees the continued magical education of the new-initiate. In the classroom model initiation tends to come later, but even so not everything can be covered in depth because the real lessons (the ones that matter) are between you and the Gods and the really deep ones can only be administered after you have been "brought in". When I was first initiated I realized that I wouldn't have been able to effectively initiate someone else as the power needed more time to "sink in".
