I finished Suikoden IV last night. And yes, I have thoughts.
In retrospect, I think IV's story has a more solid start than I initially gave it credit for. It's not my favorite beginning in the series, necessarily, but it sets up a lot of things that have good narrative payoff potential and has some moments of delightful dumbness, too.
