A year or so ago, I got a return to Central (£9.30!) and upon arriving at Central to go home we were told there would be no trains until further notice. I decided to go and get the bus which cost me more money. Upon emailing ScotRail, they told me that they would not reimburse me.
ALSO! If I get on the train at 8.54am it's £9.30, but people who get on at Branchton/Drumfrochar six minutes later get it off-peak. I again argued with them about this saying it was totally unfair but they were having none of it.
Sorry, I just completely hate them. Bunch of robbing bastards.
I remember the one last year, a guy jumped in front of a train at Hillington. I couldn't really blame them for that.
The peak/off-peak thing is a bit annoying though. I guess if they are going to do something like that they need a cut-off time so, unfortunately, what happens with you will always be the case.
