Rahm was the inspiration for Josh Lyman on "The West Wing". He's also apparently quite the hardass. (his brother Ari was the inspiration for Ari on "Entourage".)

And Obama was the inspiration for Matt Santos. At the end of the show Josh was chief of staff for president-elect Santos. I don't think even Sorkin was expecting that to happen.
