Pic of the Day: October 1st

Oct 01, 2016 16:50

I can't believe another October is upon us! Last year's OPotDC doesn't really seem that long ago somehow. But I'm thrilled that it's here again!

Let's kick this thing off! )

Happy October! :D This is a perfect picture for the first day of October. It kind of looks like they're bringing in the first pumpkin of the year from the pumpkin patch. They are the perfect dolls for a rainy day as well. I didn't notice that the photo was on an angle. If anything it might add to it because it gives the illusion of them pushing the pumpkin up a hill.

I remember those pumpkins from last year! Mine didn't have a stem either so it seems like it was a factory error instead of a crazy pumpkin stem stealing maniac. lol.

I've been thinking that this month is going to be challenging as well. I'm just so mentally exhausted right now and I have a lot of other obligations that I'm dreading having to do. I didn't want any of that to ruin October though and I would be even more depressed if I let it get in the way of doing the challenge after doing it for so many years. I'm glad you're feeling inspired now though. I hope I start to feel more inspired as the month goes on because all I want to do now is sleep. lol.

This picture definitely made me think of two little girls picking out their very first pumpkin of the year, so I'm glad you saw that too! The farm near me actually had a commercial one year with two girls pushing a huge pumpkin up a hill, now that I think about it. I guess I kind of recreated that without really trying to.

I really wish I would've paid more attention to those larger pumpkins last year when we first got them in at work. I just don't see how they all could've gotten away without stems, but it just doesn't seem likely that someone went around stealing them all, either. lol Maybe they were just made really poorly last year and most of the stems fell off in shipping, or something? It's going to be one of those unsolved pumpkin mysteries, I guess.

Yeah, it's been a very rough year for me, particularly the past couple of months, so literally everything feels like a chore to me right now and as much as I didn't want to add something else to the list of things I need to do, I need this to force myself to enjoy October at ( ... )

It really was the oddest thing last year, stumbling across all those pumpkins without stems. I wish I'd paid more attention when we first got them in at work because I really can't remember if they ever had stems or not. I didn't give them much thought until they went on sale and I decided to get one for half price, but then they were all missing stems. I found two at another store without stems, saw one on someone's doorstep on Halloween night without a stem, and my friend who commented above had one without a stem. Clearly it's a widespread phenomenon. lol

Willa really does always look so enthusiastic and happy, regardless of the situation she's placed in. I was a bit worried about how these girls would do in a Halloween setting but I think they look pretty perfect. I'm still a little annoyed, though, that all of the AG clothing vendors at Applefest today didn't have anything at all for the Wellie Wishers.
