Good grief, I've missed your photos. What kind of jobs are you applying for? Crossword puzzles and sudoku and cleaning are addictive. As is five-dollar wine. Maybe.
I will always have a soft spot in my heart for five dollar wine, it's true!
I have been applying for both I-need-to-pay-for-my-rent jobs (at various coffee shops and such) as well as sending out self-promo mailers and contacting photographers about photo assisting work. I had really started to find a niche and a name for myself doing photo assisting work in Minneapolis, and now I am sort of having to sort of start all over again to get my foot in the door with photographers here in Chicago. I think it will be totally worth it in the long run, though. :)
I hope so, too! And yes, Chicago is one of the must-visit cities of the world, I think. (Also, thank you! I feel like I've been in a big ol' funk about taking pictures for the sake of taking pictures lately. Or I could just be lazy.)
I think the only reason I want to move out is because the neighborhood I'm in is just a constant stream of houses that all look the same but have different colored brick, and it's not very appealing to me to take photographs of it.
Hmmm, seems like you're luckier with the cheap alcohol in the US, all cheap wine here taste horrid...I think I'm just lucky the parents of the kids in the kindergarten like to give me wine for Christmas, and when I had to quit and..haha, that's good wine.
Edgewater, well part time. I'm stuck in the South Loop for school but I'm planning (hoping, wishing, and praying) to get a small studio on the Northside as I only have three more semesters of college left and I hate living with people I don't know.
WHAAAAAT. I definitely live on Edgewater Avenue, right off Clark. !
There are "for rent" signs galore all over right now so I don't think you'll have any trouble finding a place, and I am extremely surprised at how reasonably priced housing is in this area (as I am sure you well know). (Well, reasonably priced except for when you are unemployed, but otherwise it's probably totally awesome.)
