Yeah, we're not succumbing to the pressure of The Man!

The pathos of the truth in this makes me weep:

"Driving back home from the airport alone, after dropping off your friends, and getting home after they arrive at their flight destination."

I think sadder still is being on the "I only call you when I'm stuck in traffic" phone listing.

"Hi, Chris! Oh, it's _____. Yeah, it has been awhile, what are you up to? Oh, that's cool... yeah, I'm driving back from the airport..."

Immediately you know where you stand.

So, earlier this morning I was reading the excerpt from the letter you posted... I know it sounds happy and such but finality of anything makes me become so wistful. I'm glad things worked out so amicably but I definitely almost got moist, and it honestly had nothing to do with the sleep I was still rubbing from my eyes.

I don't even live in California and I know that phenomenon too well. Because I know people in California.

Now it's so much more real.

I'm going to go drown a small woodland creature now, or something.

Dude, don't you have being that sort of friend? I do. I can always tell, too - unexpected call, and immediately after they say hello you hear the whir of traffic in the ambient noise.

"You must be driving somewhere, right?"

"How'd you know?!"

No reason to be sadder.

The one thing I desperately miss out on is grocery shopping and not having to buy only what I can carry on my forearms for several blocks.
