though I was a fully capable drive I didn't bother getting my license until I was 20.

If you can do without do without, other then getting places faster it's a big pain.

That's how I feel. If it's not broke, don't fix it! Why get one unless it's mandatory?

Unfortunately, it's becoming more and more so. Bah.

hehe, another non-driver! sadly, it looks like i will have to join the ranks of the driving if i want a better job as the driving question seems to crop up in nearly every interview... and every time it does i never get the job. :(

but i have to admit, probably a lot cheaper not to drive!! hurrah!

That is precisely the reason why I have to get one - jobs. Otherwise I'd never drive, ever.

The only thing I drive is myself, crazy.

So I'm guessing the parents aren't buying you a car for graduation?

:p

I told them a car would be the saddest gift they could give me.

Ummm, I'll have "Things I'm still not comprehending" for 500, Alex...

Did I read something wrong or are you really saying that you've never had a driver's license...EVER???

I can understand the no car and no driving, but ... **blink, blink** ... hmmm. Do you just have a non-driver ID card then? I'm just curious what you use for identification purposes...

No, you read correctly.

I do have a California state ID, which everyone thinks is fake because A) I look like I'm 12 and B) no one has just an ID card.

I'm sad, though! When I get my license, I'll lose the card, which has such a good picture on it. I just know I'll end up making a mid-vomit face by accident and have to live with that for eight years or whatever.

Haha, yeah, I know what you mean... everyone thinks my ID is fake, too.

I still have my Utah driver's license (no, I'm not Mormon, but thanks for asking), and I get that nervous feeling in the pit of my stomach everytime I get carded here in TX... like I'm a sophomore back in college trying to get into the bars.

But then I'm like, wait a tick... Mormon's don't make fake IDs... they make fake gold tablets that only they can read, but not fake identification cards... yeahhhhhhh.

Ah, the infamous ID picture. I lost enough weight to appear on a diet supplement ad shortly after getting my license. This results either in my license being considered fake, or an insult in my mind.

As for getting your license, I hope a considerable distance separates home and LA. Even after a few years of driving, I consider an uneventful trip down to LA an act of God.

driving makes people impatient. Atlanta's traffic problem is second only to L.A. and the public transportation here sucks just as much, but I still manage. And when bartenders card me, and ask why I've got a GA ID card as opposed to a driver's license, I "politely" remind them that its none of their business.

I like to laugh at people that complain about the cost of gas.
