Ten years later...

I have an appointment for a chest x-ray today. If the radiologist says my lungs look fine, then I am officially cured of cancer. I've lived with the prospect of cancer spreading for a decade now, I wonder what it will feel like to be declared cured?

Congratulations! That's awesome! By the way, did you have chest cancer? I never knew that...

Nope, I had cartilege cancer in my right hip, which was replaced. If the cancer spread, the doctors knew it would show up in my lungs. So I've had a series of chest x-rays done since then to be sure.

I hope all goes well for you. Cancer is a scary thing. My mom has had cancer 3 times and my cousin died of cancer 2 years ago, so it is always on my mind. Well, not like every minute.
