Umm, excuse me missy, I think you are sadly mistaken. I will now list off some AWESOME fucking musicians that your kids better want to see in the future or they will be considered losers by my kids.
Beck, Blur, Ben Folds Five, Cake, Foo Fighters, Modest Mouse, Radiohead, smashing pumpkins, sublime, the white stripes, weezer. Those are just a few from my comp. that I can think of right now.
Suffice to say, vintage will always be cool. So the bands that are around now, whether good or bad, will be popular to some degree in the future. I rest my motherfuckin' case, yo.
ok, YES, these bands are all in my favorites of course. i mean i failed to mention that modest mouse is one of my favorites, as well as cake and smashing pumpkins. but come on. the pumpkins have broken up. blur kind of sucks. sublime will always be good. im not saying there isnt good music out there, im just saying like, i feel like the golden age of music is somehow gone..and wondering, will our kids look back on our music as if its this great vintage stuff? I mean I don't know. I'm sure there were bad bands in the 60's and 70's that people moaned about, I was just refering to the plethera of good bands that I've seen from that time, that have become classics. and im wondering what band is the next beatles? i was more stating my frustration that they got a shitload of good bands, in a short time. not to say we dont have ANY, just that um, life is unfair...?
BLUR HAD LIKE ONE SONG MICHAEL. that WOO HOO one, where they just kept going WO HOO over and over again. I got my head shaved? my something whateyed? it wasnt easy? but nothing is? WOHOO!? THATS IT.
I think the problem about today's music isn't that there's no good music. Like those bands Mike mentioned if you like them. But the thing is, there're just too many bands and singers coming out that none of them are as big as those of your dad's time anymore. Thank God I listen to the kind of music that not as many people are doing.
But yeah, I for one wanna be born decades earlier. I wanna see the Judy Garland Show live for once. Watching it on DVD you kinda get sick of the black and white.
