I've noticed that some people are insulated from their own mistakes.  They don't get feedback from others about their actions, and more importantly, they themselves are not adversely affected by their own mistakes and misdeeds.

People with power over others seem the most insulated.  For example:

Of all the religions that exist, I suspect Unitarian Universalism is closer to agnosticism than many (any?) others.  They are certainly less dogmatic  than atheists, and many UU's I know have the same questioning disposition I see among agnostics.  Many also have the same tolerance for ambiguity and uncertitude prevalent among agnostics.
