The monster was unlike any he had seen before in the city. Humanoid, reptilian, like some sort of gigantic walking lizard. Kirk wondered if it was another person brought in here by the current goings-on, and was about to open his mouth to speak to the creature when he noticed it picking up a large branch and coming towards him slowly but menacingly.

So much for talking. Maybe it was just a new kind of monster in the area after all. Unfortunately, he noticed as he moved a hand to his own side, it seemed that he'd left his gun back at the boarding house.

Wonderful.

The creature was slow, at least. Kirk took a few steps back as it took steps towards him, not necessarily feeling the need to run at the moment, merely observing his actions and movement.
