Coming home for the holidays!
So yah, I'll be home for Xmas! And New Years, too. I can't wait! I miss all my family & friends & need a serious dose of America to last me for a while. Unfortunately my tickets home were so pricey that gifts will be slim, but that's what fun Japanese snacks are for! A quick update on me: Working my sizeable buttocks off trying to pack, see people, exchange $$ and finish a cosplay all in time for my impending nervous breakdown, which I'm sure will accompany my period as soon as I set foot in Japan.

My placement
So I've finally received my placement in Japan. I will be headed to the Kanta (oops) Kansai Region, Kyoto Prefecture, to the city of Kameoka (think of region =state, prefecture = county). I've been googling the heck out of it & this is what I've found so far:

I will be taking part in an ancient & wondrous tradition this Friday. I will travel to a colossium near a strange temple where, after donning blue vestments & strange headgear, I will be paraded in front of a crowd of hundreds (possibly even thousands!) along with several hundred other participants.
