Pineapple on pizza is good, and basil on pizza is good. And pineapple-basil gelato is good because it is mostly sweet. But would the two flavors meld over tomato sauce?
There's a gelato place here in town that always has a few odd flavors (such as the lavender flavor I mentioned in the comments of another post -- by the way, NOT GOOD). They also had a citrus basil flavor at the ice cream place the other day and I ordered it but I'm pretty sure it's one of the ones we got gypped out of. And I was really looking forward to it, too.

For instance, pineapple and black beans on pizza. I stole that idea from a Caribbean restaurant here in town that called it "Black Pearl Pizza". Thumbs up!
I can't do pineapple on pizza. The tart/sweetness just doesn't mix with the salty goodness. Though I do love basil on pizza. I think it's worth a shot.
