I need to become much more selective about my Korean reading habits. I saw this listed in the non fiction bestseller list for this week, and I thought the title was funny:  "Nevertheless, Men Are Necessary."  There's so much built into that 'nevetheless' - even though they suck, we have to put up with them.

Japanese are into cats. Much more so than Koreans.  My mother, after seeing all the cat paraphernalia, commented that Hello Kitty didn't just spring up out of nowhere, that she comes from a long line of cat representations.

I spent four days and three nights in Kyushu, going from Fukuoka to Beppu and stopping by Yufuin for a morning too. The problem of not speaking Japanese and also not having any sense of history (especially Korean history) I am not able to actually name the places I went.   But I still had a super time!

Yesterday morning I rose blearily at 6 a.m. as I always do, interrupted in the middle of some sort of dream.  I wish I could sleep till 8. I know that all the human bio rhythm folks say that it's actually 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. that's the important 'be asleep' time but whatever.  I long for the weekends when I can get my 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. sleep time in .
