Ha!! I get the reference, even if Sammy doesn't. And it's funny, and true, but also very sad-- because, "When you coming home, dad? I don't know when, but we'l get together then..." is one of the saddest lyrics in all of lyric-dom. (I think I will play that song right now.) And poor Dean, he does miss his dad and he does want to be like him.

I like to think some day at Stanford, Sam will hear this song, and maybe he'll understand. Want to write that as a sequel? If I say, please???

It iiisss! But, you know, Sammy probably makes a point to not care about music at all because it's stupid and something Dad and Dean like ;)

Urgh...I had enough trouble forcing this one out. Not sure I'll be able to do a sequel. I should probably focus on finishing at least one of my BigBangs...

Oh the angst even on a perfectly good topic like swimming. Damn you.

I'm sure I sound like a broken record, but I could read your words every day and twice on Sunday.

I love Sam and Dean here. The brotherly banter/bashing/hatred/love that is so brothers.

It also breaks my heart.

Well done.

Swimming, shopping, homework...I think I like those kind of angst fics better than the obvious ones.

Well, I can stand to hear it again. Glad you liked it ;)

Delicious! And especial love for uses of the mistaken!abuse trope to highlight that actually using his kids to hunt monsters is still a kind of indirect abuse. Because it is! Bwah!

Much love for this. I'd say poor Dean, but you know we all want him to suferrrrr.

It's an awesome trope. It needs to be done more often! And yeah, it doesn't matter how you look at it, John doesn't magically turn into Father of the Year material.

Love this trope...I'm sure this sort of thing happened all the time. Great teen/brother dynamic and that last line? Killed me dead. Awesome. :)

Congrats, you've made me cry yet again! You get all the characters 100% right every time, it blows me away. Also the last couple lines killed me.
