Not that I really know anything about this to make an accurate decision, but the second one sounds so much cooler. Dealing with staining cells and brain slices would be pretty cool... and I don't think I could deal with the whole "smashing rats on the head thing." Haha.

Well, the second one still induces seizures in rats, just chemically. So, either way there is that down fall.

I figured. But chemically induced seizures are better than bopping them on the head, in my opinion.

Judging from your descriptions, I'd suggest the second one. It seems like it has a little bit of everything, and the way you put it makes it sound like neither has any one outstanding advantage in terms of specificity.

...NOT. Um, I like the second one, mostly because you'll be getting to see it from the beginning, which is pretty awesome. + isn't pharmaceuticals what you're interested in?
