your mom treats you like an out of control 14 year old. if you're the same sheilah as i remember, you're pretty much the opposite.

don't let her get under your skin. you're totally rad and you know it.

I suddenly have this image of Sheilah on The Maury Povich Show, throwing chairs around, spitting on Maury, riding a goat and flipping off the audience, all the while exclaiming, "Wha'eva!! I do what I want!"

Which, of course, would be in stark contrast to the non-fictional Shielah we know and love... but nonetheless, it's still an amusing image.

Sheilah darling. Don't let your mom get you down. You know you're a perfectly capable adult, or at least you do your best. We all mess up sometimes (or at least what our parents consider messing up), especially when you've just spent 4 years at university without having anyone to answer to. If you really want to get away from your parents and feel more independent move far enough away that you need to take a plane or a very long train/car ride. At least that seems to have worked for me.

We must get together when I get home next week. Give me a call, or email :) Hang in there.

Sheilah dahling! If it makes you feel any better, I am in pretty much the same boat: month-to-month lease, pretty damn broke and in need of a job. We'll have to get together soon and bitch about Bwater (I just arrived in Wentzells Lake from Ontario), nagging parents, social dysfunctions and a supposed lack of ambition that all we fresh grads possess. Plus I really want to hear how your summer's been!
