Last night I went to the symphony with my brother - Benjamin Britten's War Requiem. I had forgotten what a stunning piece of music it is. Of course, I suspect someone complained about the content since they made such a deal about passing out ribbons and maestro Conlon's speech about the importance of the arts in our civilized society.
