I started my new job last week, tonight will be my third shift.  I'm working part time at a well known tax place, and I like it ok.  The best part is that it's a very easy job that I'm overqualified for.  Also, there's a set 'duration' with the tax season which gives me something to plan around and look forward to.  The biggest problem is that the ( Read more... )

One of my very best friends is coming across country to visit me in February.  Just when I think I'm going to die from boredom something happens and I get a great treat to look forward to. 

Petaluma is a boring place.  My job is quite boring, and I only work with 6 other people who really have no interest in being friends.  I live on base with "permanent party" who think that students are beneath them.  I feel like I'm stuck in a time warp.  We're here for 7 months.  Not really long enough to cultivate much of a life, but too long to ( Read more... )

I just found out that my car repairs were all covered under warranty.  All $600 of them.  I feel like a pressure cooker that just had all the pressure released!  I was almost sick with worry about how I was going to come up with that amount of money without selling something or putting it on credit (which I hate).  SUCH RELIEF ( Read more... )

Does anyone besides me hate the Valentines day thing LJ is trying to do today? 

So what does hubby get to V-Day? An $80 bottle of whiskey, that's what.  Why?  Because I seem intent on giving him expensive habits.  I'm a moron, but the look on his face while he enjoys it will be worth it.

Hopefully he'll be home for Valentines day.  He's been deployed for the past 2 weeks and doesn't have a return date.  Military life sucks
