this morning zelda was trying to pee and couldn't and was shaking badly. we called the vet, who made an appt for noon...and then called us back saying that was too long to wait and to take her to the emergency room for pets. i took her in and it turns out she has bladder stones. she had one lodged in her urethra, hence the no peeing. this is life- ( Read more... )

N!o gas leak. Turns out it was our landlord in his garage (which shares a wall with our basement) trying to get his snowblower started. It wouldn't start and then he spilled some gas on the floor. our basement reeks of gasoline and the smell is wafting up to the first floor. ben just went next door to the landlord to see what is up...hope for our sake that it clears out quick and we don't have to take the baby anywhere in this crappy weather!
luckily the upstairs (where his room is) doesn't smell yet!

i just found out taht there is an organization that coordinates private breast milk donation between families. essentially, you donate to a particular family that you work out donation details with. i am looking into it, as the whole pumping thing kind of sucks right now - it's really a time sucker - and i would hate to have a whole crazy process ( Read more... )
