There is a place with a window. It looks out onto some nice leafy trees, as well as a rather old part of the building. It was made with bricks. At the moment I looked out this window, a train comes breezing by below. I can barely see it through the thick canopy of leaves. Why is it when I go on a work trip, for just a few days, the girl uses it as an excuse to have a change of heart and just drop away? That's twice now. I don't like that one bit. I haven't been to Disneyland in a year. And that makes me sad. Not because of Disneyland, but what that absence represents.

I moved this week. Into my own place. It feels weird and a bit lonely doing it yourself, without even your friends to help carry stuff inside. I guess we're all too old to do it the cheap way. As I look back at this year, I lament the loss of many friends. It's one thing to gradually lose touch with people because your paths take you in different directions.
