People are worried this might cause girls to have sex sooner. I doubt it since almost none of my friends knew anything about HPV before it directly affected them. Anyone know about it from high school ( Read more... )

I think that "cancer vaccine" and "cure" are misleading. HPV does lead to cervical cancer, so it would make sense that a vaccine would work for that particular disease. But its misleading because not all cancers are caused by viruses, or even things we understand. Bad journalism. And Judd, the word you wanted to use was "prevent" not "cure". I know this seems like a pet peeve but this is why people have such a hard time communicating. Noone understands language.

I think its a good thing - and like Katie said its something that should be prevented not cured but the spread of it makes it very hard to do that

viri are never "cured"... it just gets prevented and quarantined to the point where it isn't circulating anymore.

that's why smallpox, anthranx, polio are such scary things :-D
