i love hearing kids talking about how proud they are of our "scene," or how they like what they see coming out of it, or how they'd like to put it back on the map. because, really....there are soooooooooo many kids that go to shows now that REALLY know this scene, and know what its been through. seriously. i could say more, but that's all for now ( Read more... )

what exactly is "the scene" anyways?

I mean honestly...everyone is always talking about "the scene" and how much it sucks now, but aren't you a part of it still!?
Maybe not, I don't know..?
But maybe, not even knowing it, all of you and your generation made it how it is now...Does it not change with every generation?

There's always going to be new and younger people, that is inevitable!! And with new people comes change. Shouldn't this be obvious?
I'm sure when you were "new to the scene," or whatever! all the older kids were like "What the fuck!!??" and when these new kids get older they're going to be saying the EXACT same thing as you..

Again, I'm not pretending to know anything about your scene or whatever and I'm definitely not trying to put you down at all (you know I love you!!), but being on the outside of it at the few shows I go to with Allan, or reading about people complaining about it on livejournal, this is just my opinion on the matter..

i like it better when the older kids stop caring about a scene.
its pretty awesome when that happens.

commercialism has always been 'on the map,' there's no putting it back.
hardcore (before shows had security and high prices) was, to my knowledge, about finding somewhere you fit because you didn't agree with society. now, it's about following your friends because you can't make your own goddamn decisions.
