on wednesday i found out there has been a packet of nails in one of the wellies that i have been wearing since i got here. i did think it was a bit uncomfortable but i am so used to just taking things for what they are at the moment, that i didn`t look. maybe its normal anyway, perhaps a norwegian thing to always have nails handy (or footy, haha ( Read more... )

i think the moomins are definitely like, norwegian or swedish or something like that.

I'm pretty sure they're Norwegian. I named my pet rabbit 'Moomin'.

aww, i have decided the moomins are cute, they have a jigsaw of them which is what made me ask. they don`t wear anything though do they? which makes no sense because it is so cold!

i think cider is just cider but not sure. everything is alcohol free practically, they give the kids alcohol free champagne as a normal fizzy drink and pretty much all the beer i have seen is low alcohol. they did get some baileys out when we had special visitors though, mmm.

national day was so boring, we walked in a big procession for ages and waved flags (i waved mine when people were looking) and then came back and ate rømmegrøt which is sour cream pudding. mental.

i didn`t know that, whats german for orange then? i don`t know if i mentioned before there`s another working guest coming near-ish here soon. i was told she was from new zealand but liv realised she misheard this from switzerland the other day. do they speak german there?

That's cool! Will you be able to meet up? They speak German, French and Italian in Switzerland - depends which part she comes from. I bet she'll speak good English though. Orange in German is either Orange (wow!) or Apfelsine - it's a dialect thing. It's quite similar in Russian too - apelsin is how you would write it in english letters! Bx
