The sheet music for Prokofiev 'five pieces' came in the mail today! I'm so excited to start working on it! I made ginormous amounts of progress on the Janacek violin sonata I'm working on for my junior recital, I can't be positive but some of it actually sounded in tune! A__ pains instead of hunger pains, my stomach is rumbling for female company. The chamber concert was great, really top quality. They played a Haydn quartet from the 'Sun' set of quartets, that's all I know about it, the second violinist was amazing but really really annoying to watch. I found a really cool dvd at the library called 'colonial house', it's a series that was on PBS a couple years ago about a group of people who 'travel back in time' and live for several months in the summer of 1628 on the coast of Maine. It's riveting, there are so many insights into present culture, how much has changed and how much is similar. ( Read more... )
