On my way back from the corner market this morning I found something unusual.  Peeking out of a basement air-shaft was a scrawny young cat.  I spoke to it softly and she popped out for some scritches quickly enough but I could tell she was starved as her hip bones were totally hollow.  She was weak enough that her own headbutting for pets knocked
