so, pax. lines, crowds. I'm lining up an hour and a half before a panel...

at Dubai airport waiting to (re)board my plane.

in other news: blerg. waking up at 6am, walking several km, then getting a flight at 19:00, and staying awake for the first half sucks. stupid airplane people turning off the lights. ahwell. will attempt to sleep on the next section.

currently in gallarate - a suburb just outside of Milan. lots of marble every where.

air conditioning is awesome, and this bed is very comfortable. so don't feel like moving, but dinner soon.

to Milan for tonight, then fly to Melbourne tomorrow.

Currently in Torino. Seems a nice enough place. Going on a walk later around the town.

7 hour train trips would be better without a sugared up 5 year old.

Hmmm. The cathedral next to the leaning tower looks more impressive. And the leaning tower keeps freaking me out (from an engineering point of view). Hotel is nice, about a block away from the tower. Has aircon - win!

getting to the end of my ability to be around people...

To pisa today, then villa de tirano the day after.

Went to the coliseum and old forum today. Got a guided tour that skipped the line in both areas. Very cool as the guide was an archeologist who specialised in the era. Also, the buildings were an order of magnitude older than our freaking country, but it sucks how a bunch of fanatics in the middle ages ripped all the old buildings apart for ( Read more... )

Every city i have been to warps reality in some way - in Brisbane every one is 2 degrees from everyone else, Perth screws with weather. Nice, i found curves reality so that unless you aim for somewhere you end up at its acropolis with the giant stone head.
