Stick Theater Presents: The Third Crusade!

Apr 12, 2010 06:12

The Crusades! Adventure! Romance! Plate armor in climatically inappropriate regions! Sacking, attempted sacking, conspiracy to sack, and jaywalking! It's like we were the Vikings, only afterwards we were too embarrassed to look anybody in the eye.

This is just all sorts of amazing. Just wow, the things that really happen in history.
The taking of Cyprus along the way? The death of Frederik I, resulting in everyone just going home? King Richard's proposition to King Philip? (I would write that but I don't think I could do it justice, ha) I love these stick figure comics.

You should do the Children's Crusade! Ha I really have no idea, but just how my history teacher described it to us was the funniest/saddest thing ever.

Oh, but the Children's Crusade was too tragic! I couldn't joke about that. D= Obviously most of history's biggest moments of fail tend to have a tragic component (I left out a few mass executions in this one!), but I feel like there is a line I should not cross.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the comic--thank you for reading! =D

Yeah, I would have to agree. There's hardly much "funny" or "Hetalia-related" material there and most of it would just be sad. D:

Anyway, I'm sure whatever you end up picking next will be brilliant! :)

No problem, thank you for sharing this with us!

I can't tell what's better, Giant!Saladin or Popehat!Romano. But I think the winner is Schoolteacher!France. Oh, yes. Also, lense flare, pfft. I hope these never stop.

As for other history funtimes, I can't think of any others that haven't been done. You could stick-figure-ify that magical fairy city, maybe?

Yeah I was drawing schoolteacher!France and totally had a moment of cough, "You know that wouldn't be so bad..."

LENS FLAAAARE

Oh man, Konigsberg! The real history of Konigsberg is completely fascinating, maybe I can work with something there! ♥

That would mean stickfigure!Prussia! He's been a long time coming. =D

Whatever you decide to do, I'm sure it'll be just as hilarious and informative as the others were.

Actually, Prussia's origin story is one of the things I'm legit thinking of covering, because it's recockulously stupid and he pretty much ended up being a nation only after exhausting every possible alternative.

As usual I just about died laughing.

You know, i'd read that Philip and Richard "shared a bed" (in that totally innocent 1200's way) back in the day, so I thought that they had already engaged in some rather *ahem* interesting activities. That being said, I was under the impression that the "row" you speak of was something of a lover's quarrel. I mean, books talk about them being TOTAL BFFs.

I'll have to find the history book I read that in.

Oh yes, if you have any specific citations about this I'd love to hear about them! =D

Yay, love! =D

I know, I love that it's England who hits on (and gets shot down by) France. If it happened the other way, it wouldn't be funny--it'd just be business as usual!
