We made a trip down to Agway farm store to buy some plants for the garden. We're going to try eggplant this year, but I'm not entirely sure if we can pass it off. They like really warm weather, and let's face it, it's not exactly hot up here. Even within our own area, we tend to be 5-10 degrees cooler because of the elevation. So, we'll see. ( Read more... )

Last January, Mike and I took Freyjadis to her first metal concert to watch TYR play. I was so proud of my little metal girl as she pumped her little metal fists into the air. The man responsible for the universal \m/ metal \m/ symbol died yesterday morning.

I'm so excited to have Icelandic chickens.  I am teaching genetic diversity to my students and we were lucky enough to get hatching eggs from the wonderful people at Mack Hill Farm in Marlow.  The students are so excited to be observing this rare breed of chicken. 

35 years ago was a pretty awesome day.  I love you!
