I'm still not reading much fanfic and I've been kind of surprised to hear that brining up Justin's graphic design/animation dreams is considered a twist in this story. Thanks so much for you lovely comments.
Every word held my attention. This was a perfect ending, an ending that gave the well-deserved homage to the Brian and Justin relationship. I loved Justin's epiphany at the end- what a wonderful, unique twist and so believable. Also, your characterizations of Brian and Justin were picture-perfect.
Thank you so much. I'm truly surprised that nobody seems to have written a 'Justin really doesn't want NYC after all' type story. I'm repeating myself from earlier replies here:
I really wanted to address that Justin had never expressed any interest in painting or being rich and famous prior to Season Five, and while it's perfectly logical for him to be swept up in the moment of the experience, he would ultimately realize that the struggle was not worth the payoff when the payoff wasn't even something he particularly wanted.

Justin smiled. “I remember that, too.”
You know when the line is perfect, when everyone else tells you.
Not that it hasn't been said before, but my heart did a tumble when I read those two sentences.
*sigh!*
