I really like your focus on Justin here, and on his growing into himself. He's always been so dynamic, and you capture that quite well.

I also love the details about New York--the ACE and the crepe place and Washington Square Park--because I have so encountered variations on all three and they add to the texture of the story.

Good work. :)

Thank you so much! There were so many frayed Justin-bits that Cowlip threw our way over the course of those five seasons--I merely tried to put them together in a somewhat coherent fashion.

I'm glad to hear that the details (a) made sense and (b) added something to the story. =)

I'm in awe...this was simply pefection. I mean anyone who can write this:
“I miss you,” Brian says out of nowhere, in the middle of your babbling about some Spanish-speaking performance artist who painted herself gold to represent the struggle for women’s rights. The comment catches you off guard and you feel like the Grinch after his heart grows three sizes. Maybe it’s not better left as subtext, after all.

and it includes the Grinch ♥ and this He’s right about one thing-it’s not luck. It’s hard work, devotion, and sticking your nose to the grindstone. It’s blood, sweat, and tears. It’s feeling like you’re taking on “just one more thing” until you’re ready to break. It takes years, decades of everything you can give. Love requires all of those things and more to work properly, but when it does work? It’s amazing. You already know that you, Justin Taylor, love two things: art and Brian Kinney. And now, you think you’re up to the challenge of letting the whole world know about it. and invoke so much emotion that I have tears in my ( ... )

OMG, I've been waiting forever to reply to this!!! I heart you so much for quoting your favorite parts, first of all (and it's funny how everyone likes that second bit, even though I cranked it out about five seconds before the deadline in a fit of caffeine-induced mania). Secondly, I wanted you to know that your comment literally made me jump up and down in my chair with giddiness. Thanks so much!

LOL...I wondered how you wandered over to my journal that day when I did my 'little' rant!

I really did love this story and I'm glad I was able to return a tiny bit of the giddiness you gave me through your writing! I hope you write more!

I really liked this fic. I enjoyed a Justin that is bold and self-assured. He went after his art career like he had gone after Brian--giving it everything he had and he was able to get both an art career and Brian.

Thank you! I really wanted to present Justin as the strong individual we all know him to be, so I'm happy to hear that came across well.

*squees incoherently* I'm so happy you liked it (even if I'm not twistinside82)! Really, your comment meant a lot to me, since I'm such a fan of your work and I respect your opinions meta-wise, as well.

Additionally, thank you for your defense of the second person. It was very much appreciated as I began to get upset when I saw the LJ kerfluffle unfold.

Perfect! You portrayed both characters as strong individuals. (And, I loved that Gus was visiting Brian.)

I can also just see Brian showing up with the industrial size box of condoms (tied perfectly with a bow, naturally).

Aw, thank you! I wanted to present them both as the strong individuals that we know them to be, without compromising the ever-perfect BJ lurve, hee hee. I'm glad you liked the Gus, too!
