Still Cold in the North

28 degrees? I think I remember one day last week where I didn't wear a sweater to breakfast. Not that I'm complaining - heaven forbid that my thermometer ever read anything above 25 degrees, but, seriously, it's still fairly spring-like up here, and shows no signs of changing (at least according to the weather network...) Although, the weather ( Read more... )

Hmmm... I'm very glad that I'm not where you are... imagine it not being summer yet (and also how is the arrival of summer possibly a depressing thought?! :P)

I love the name that you chose for your cat! I'm glad he came back :D

Did you like To The Lighthouse? It was definitely my favorite VW book.

Also, I think you should postpone your visit to the following weekend... because I want to seeeeee youuuuuuuu (and next weekend my sister is supposed to have her baby... but we'll see how that turns out!)

I'm pretty sure her baby will come on whatever weekend you decide to go away :p

Luckily (for you, not so much for Jenni), first babies tend to take about 12 hours to finally make their appearance so you'll have lots of time to get home lol!

Remember too that first babies often don't come until a week or two after their due date.

Of course, this isn't always true - obviously, as Paris can ON his due date, in six hours. So... take it with a grain of salt.

I'm so using your cat story to convince my parents never to leave their windows open enough that a cat could squeeze through. I'm always so paranoid of that happening. At least it's technically better for a cat to fall from a high distance than a shorter one. I'm glad you got him back btw!

And I'm also fairly jealous of how wonderful the temperature up there sounds! :: shakes fist ::

Luckily, he didn't seem to be hurt by his jump at all... but I didn't know that while he was away, so I kept having nightmarish ideas about him being injured and stuck somewhere in the woods around my cottage... with all of the preditors out here... definately a scary experience!

I completely understand. Once, while I was still living at my parents' house, they were having a party and were setting up some audio wires through one of the windows. Well, clearly the people setting them up didn't have indoor cats because they left on of the basement windows wide open! I had a fit since Sol was down there. I spent the majority of the party going insane calling for her and trying to find her, and then waiting patiently for her downstairs on the offchance that she might return. Turns out she was hiding in the rafters (it's an unfinished basement) and came when it was quiet enough. I was SO relieved, but that entire time I had the most horrible thoughts about what might happen to her where I never to have found her!

I'm glad to hear he came back safe and sound! Yikes, what a scare.

If you do head south next weekend, you should come to Burlington for The Sound of Music Festival. It's free!

I miss you, Karen.

I'd just like to register the fact of my extreme disappointment at reading this post thirty minutes before I left for Guelph.
