one small step for everybody, whether they're walking or not

DC Council votes - unanimously - to recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states.

I don't like hope. She's a tease, and a mean one. But right now, I'm falling in love with her.

Thank you for the link to the article! I think my favorite bit is where Barry said he didn't know what he was voting on - d'oh! Way to take responsibility (not) and pay attention to what you're doing (bigger not).

You're right about hope, but boy, isn't she shiny and compelling right now?

You're most welcome - my pleasure.

I'm old enough to remember both of Barry's mayoral terms in office (I've had family in DC since before I was born, so I've spent time there all my life). I view his repeated re-election, despite chronic and seemingly fatal schmuckitude, as proof that God is, in fact, an iron.

*smishes you with restrained glee*

Maine's voting on SSM today as well.

Throw in Iowa and the chance of a Prop 8 reversal in the Cali Supreme Court and we may be seeing the start of a movement.

Almost unanimous - Marion Barry wigged and called for another vote and was the only one to vote against in the second round. What a prince that guy is. [ptui]
