The nursing student in me says: stay away from fatty and spicy foods!
But the regular student in me loves fatty and spicy foods and is busy munching away at deep-fried everything.

I do agree with Ben about needing to provide links though. Sometimes I google information mentioned on QI afterwards and manage only to find a vague reference to it in a local newspaper. Hardly confidence-building xD

Re: revisiting old episodes - yes, please :D Especially the ones from earlier series (A-D)

I wanted Ben Goldacre to be better! I love his column and he's funny in live shows! It might be that he doesn't really approve of the show giving air time to slightly iffy fringe research (which is perhaps necessary for a show like QI) I still wanted him to be better.

This ep wasn't funny enough. Sadly.

And I thought I heard Rich Hall shouting too ;)

I agree, I don't think any of the ones with the "experts" have been that funny so far. Luckily next week its back to just comedians and thats better! :)

True, but I am watching Qi for a combination of funny and interesting. I think the Brian Cox ep had the right mixture.

I love Ben Goldacre, so already approved of this show, and while I agree he was a bit too much on the expert side, at least quite a few things what he said were funny, although unlike Brian Cox he didn't really engage with the others.

I also quite enjoyed Jo Brand's aside in the XL version on how definitions of mental illnesses change over time. Another one of those interesting-though-not-funny things.

I agree with you about the Jo Brand thing. I like it when the comedian guests come up with the most interesting bit of information, or something really thought-provoking like this.

Hm, you sometimes forget she have that nurse-background, but it does come up every now and then, and she clearly has a few stories from those days.

i always find jo brand's brand of humor (see what i did there?) to be an unwelcome bit. she's had her moments, but she does just hit the same jokes over and over again. and i don't mind if a guest isn't hilarious as long as s/he's interesting, which goldacre was.
