I'm continuing my dance with death. Last night, I dreamt I found my patient unresponsive and cold (maybe I shouldn't have held Jane Doe's hand as she died last week). Today I saw death. Stark, solemn, honest and pure. I stared at the familiar monkey balloon for a good minute, trying to put a face to it. And then I knew. "This is your first? If you choose to stay here, it won't be your last," a colleague said to me.

$24,000 stolen < curse words directed at you. According to my dad, you NEVER EVER can disrespect your parents that way. "Even if they are criminals" (ha!), honour thy father and thy mother. (From a guy who's not Christian, just steadfastly traditional.)

[Father of the year.]
My dad went MIA for a day again and we wound up down another $4000 as a result. The total? Just under $27,000. I sent him angry text msgs and now he's out for my blood because of all the things he cares about, it's his children's "respect", which we apparently owe him because he donated sperm for our creation.
