My facebook policy is to friend no one whom i haven't atleast talked to in person. But now I am getting friend requests from people who are going to school with me next year. I can't give them a bad first impression, but I can't break my policy. What to do?!?

I was in the same situation when I first got my college email. I broke my policy for college, because Facebook is still an okay way to meet/find out about people. But I'm still rejecting GDSers to this day.

I have the same policy, which I explain to people who try to add me out of the blue. I just tell them I'll happily meet up sometime, and it weeds out 99% of the annoying friend collectors.

hah exact same thing here. except I don't really have a policy, it's just awkward to friend people i've NEVER MET and have no connection to at all

i'd say facebook it's okay, but livejournal it's a little weird because it's a little more personal
