I enjoyed this series very much. It's sad in a way, that John would have liked to be a father and the best he could manage was two days with a toddler Sherlock. I liked Molly's and Mrs Hudson's reactions to seeing the adult Sherlock, as well as his comments to John.

Thanks! I always sort of wondered if the John Watson in the books ever wanted to have kids. Most people seem to think the "sad bereavement" mentioned in "The Empty House" is the death of Watson's wife, but it's never mentioned exactly how she died...and death in childbirth was (and is) a big killer of women in cultures without access to modern medicine.

Then I realised that the way their relationship is portrayed in the BBC version, Sherlock basically is John's child anyway; always getting himself into trouble and needing looking after...so, why not take that notion to its logical extreme?

Ohh, missed that you'd updated since there was no direct link from chappie 3. Doesn't matter - I found it now! And me loved it! Such a sweet and funny little story - a perfect way to use my free time. ^^
