When I read about the children not being able to play because of the shinji my Evangelion fan mind instantly thought of Shinji Ikari and wondered if they were expecting an angel attack or to be sucked into instrumentality.

I was relieved that the bonfire maiden survived; I was dreading her getting burned up like a witch at the stake.
