Trip to Uganda - Day 1

Bedroom part 2: wailing walls and ceilings
As previously mentioned, the walls of the house are not at all insulated. Since re-siding wasn't an option (money, money, money...), blown-in insulation looked like the way to go. Bedroom part 1: floorwork
I'd made the decision to move my bedroom from the small but quaint room upstairs in the dormer over the front door (facing the street - lots of road noise and the heat & AC weren't quite as good as in downstairs rooms) to room on the southeast corner of the house, which used to be Captain C's 'library/office'. The Landing - looking literally up
Well, starting from the top down...
First, the walls had big cracks in them, so all the trim came down, and the cracks were all plastered and sanded. In addition to the cracks, since I wasn't going to put the doors to the kitchen and living room back, the areas where the door frames were were also treated to plastering to finish them off.

At the center of the house is this odd little space I've chosen to call 'the landing': it's a 7'x7' room with 6 doors and a built-in cabinet. What finally happened with the bathroom
Well, it's been awhile so I'll just give the hyper-condensed version of how the bathroom was finished off. There are a lot of other things going on with life, especially in my varied hobbies, and I'd like to cover those here as well. It did, though, remind me of how out-of-date this journal is.
