Well, it's officially official. I defended my dissertation on Monday, made the necessary revisions, deposited electronically yesterday, and dropped off the final paperwork to Graduate Studies this morning.

It hasn't really hit me yet that I'm done with school forever. I'm pretty tired, so I think I'll enjoy spending the rest of the day relaxing. ( Read more... )

Just a drive-by posting to let you all know that I am still alive, sort of. After sending my first complete draft to the Committee at the end of February, I'm working on dissertation revisions with hopes of defending by the end of April. I submitted my dissertation to the committee yesterday (YAY!) and ever since I have been feeling really artistic. It's amazing how freeing up your brain from all that worry and stress really gets the creative juices flowing. Today I completed my dissertation analysis phase. Mind you, this beast is no where near complete-- I still have to write Chs. 4 and 5, but the good news is that the extra time I spent on the descriptive analysis gives me 56 pages of unedited text to copy and past right in. My grandma decided to give us the cedar hope chest that my grandfather gave her for Christmas the year they got married as a wedding gift.
