According to Jeffrey Kacirk's Forgotten English Page-A-Day Calendar, today is the Feast Day of Saint Homobonus. Celebrate according to your whim.
Oh, and in case you're wondering: he's the patron saint of tailors, which is a little bit of a let-down. I expected better with a name like that.

HOORAY! It's like you can give into my subconscious mental nagging all the way on the other side of the US.
that is a bit of a letdown about señor homobonus, however.
also, how've you been?

I've been ok. As of December 28th, I will be celebrating one year of not smoking. That's pretty cool. I'm learning Yiddish, which is fun. For some reason, I could see you really taking to Yiddish well. maybe it's all the kvetching. heh.
how about you? anything new?

Awesome, I'm glad you finally kicked that. You can now cease imagining me shaking my finger at you for having that filthy habit, if you ever happened to do that.
Yiddish, eh? Maybe, I dunno! I keep courting the idea of learning another language. As I have been, basically the whole time you've known me. I still have those sets of "Teach yourself Swedish" that I believe you were with me when I "totally scored them" at a thrift store.
Me? Eh, not too much new really, same ol same ol. Still up in VA, don't talk to the FL people much at all, which is kind of sad whenever I think about it. As far as my actual life, not too much to write home about, but at least it's not too bad...I've had a kind of rough year, but it's been more emotionally than physically. Things are a bit better now, I suppose.
Also, someday we still need to go to england. for serious.

Dude, VA is poop. You should move to Portland where the awesome happens.
Yeah, this has been a bad year all around, but I think it'll get better. I was really sorry to hear about your grandmother, by the way. I hope the rest of your year goes a lot better.
and I totally agree that we should go to England together. That would be fantastic. I wish I could go on periodic vacations with friends, like a couple of times a year, even if it's not to anywhere all that exciting.
