No way, sister. Linux is free software. You can buy it...but the license allows you to redistribute the software for free... no matter how you got it.
if you buy it, what you're mostly buying is support.
I would recommend the Ubuntu distribution, located at ubuntu.com. It's a big download though...you might want to request a CD or get someone to dl it for you and burn it to a disc.
