It's almost the end, yet already the beginning

Today I officially did the last thing I have to do before graduation. I turned in my portfolio and presented to all the super important people; totally unprepared I might add. I got an A in student teaching, hooray for that. I honestly wasn't sure that I would make it out alive. So here's what I finally began to ponder today. How do I say

Goodbyes are hard...I basically said goodbye to you and all the seniors right before I left for France. The thing is, it's not a final goodbye. If people are truly important to you, or you are truly important to them, you will see them again. After all, miles are only miles, and it's worth it to cross them to see a smiling face that you've missed. But this goodbye is a big step in your life. You need to say goodbye to move on and start a new chapter. I didn't mean this to sound all sappy, but I've been giving the topic of goodbyes and being away a lot of thought this year. Miss you, can't wait to see your smiling face!

Yeah, last May I wanted to slip out and not say bye to the seniors who were graduating and "leaving me behind" for a semester. I'm glad I didn't though, I would have regretted it terribly. Coming from experience, it's a hard time, but also you have so much to look forward to. Plus, Clemson rocks a lot more when you come back and realize how much you missed it.. and when people you haven't seen in months see you and buy you beers :) That's the best part about leaving... having Clemson, SC to come back to :)
