chuckle. I didn't know space was in danger! Oh, no! Poor Jupiter, poor Moon, poor Alpha Centauri! At least here, on Earth, instead of in space, we're safe, right?
Seriously, though, I'm sorry you were in pain, and I'm glad it's getting better. You still might want to have it checked by a doctor, especially if the pain comes back. A stitch in time, they say!
consider that you may have fractured the scaphoid bone...it is sometimes missed even by physicians when they give an x-ray the once over. i ended up breaking both wrists/arms last summer--the first one was missed by the e.r. doc. it was fractured. (i did mine in two falls down the back steps, all three of them, inside of three days.) the scaphoid, as long as it is not displaced, should act like a nasty sprain, even up to six months--but if there is a chance you have fractured the distal radius, you should get thee to a barber-chiurgeon forthwith! even with treatment, my left one is still giving me fits. can't play the guitar, piano, have lost range of motion, etc. take care of thee!!!

if it's not better in a week and still really tender, i'd definitely get it checked.
