Spent much of today asleep..woke with my bladder alarm at 7am...went back to sleep quickly.  Woke to 2nd bladder call at noon-ish... up for a couple hours then time for a nap... eyes crossing with everything I tried to do...  slept another couple hours.  Have managed to remain horizontal much of the day.  Only trips out of bedroom have been to use ( Read more... )

the time is 1:30am...and I'm still awake...
wouldn't be a problem if I didn't have to get up at 6:30am to get ready for work.  *sigh* 

I just realized I didn't post some VERY IMPORTANT NEWS last weekend...

On Saturday, the teenager received a letter in the mail.  A VERY IMPORTANT letter... it was the financial aid letter from her university of choice.  Turns out they are giving her a FULL RIDE for her academics.  She will be receiving enough to cover her tuition and fees, approved ( Read more... )

For the record, I love my student teacher.  She's been with me about 3 weeks---I've been out a total of 5 days during those 3 weeks--so she's already picked up most of my classes...  She's eager to learn.  Is already trying to build relationships with the kids... and is doing a dang good job.

so again I say, I LOVE my student teacher...

after 2 weeks of short work week due to out of town conferences, I'm not sure I'm ready for a full week of work...

I LOVED this last conference.  I spent the entire time looking at new technology, learning new ways to use technology in the classroom, and drooling at all the possibilities.  Now, if only there were money for some of it...

I can has the most wonderful husband on the planet, at least at the moment...  ;)

He has done a wonderful job of pampering me and making sure I don't exert myself too much which would, in turn, result in my coughing up chunks of lung matter...  He has fed me for the last 4 days--bringing my meals to the bedroom so I don't have to venture out and ( Read more... )

I don't like headaches.

I'm looking for ideas on how to motivate the unmotivated student...  My students are very negative and don't care whether they do well or not.  Some are behavioral concerns that keep everyone in class from learning.  I'm out of ideas.  Cost needs to be minimal, if any.  Suggestions
