And... I'm not sure what this was, but it was entertaining.  (really, if someone can shed some more light on it, I will give it a better label)

Well, I went out to Cheapskates when they told me on the phone they had another Razor for $25... when I got there, the guy looked at the piece I broke and told me he had some extra pieces lying around... he found one that matched, helped me reassemble everything, and I paid $9 for the whole deal.  Not bad, eh?

Delta Flyer, my Razor Scooter, was rapidly decapitated this morning in an unexpected turn of events.  Specifically I was riding on the midsection of an articulated 44 UBC bus, and Delta was lying flat on the ground.  When the bus made a right turn onto 4th Ave, the handlebar became lodged in the "accordion" part of the bus as the floor rotated.  ( Read more... )

The first two days of the new semester have gone quite well.  My teachers are nice, the classes don't (yet?) seem that daunting, and my Monday-Wednesday-Friday class has suddenly morphed into a Monday-Wednesday only class.  Whee!  Last night was Mike K's going-away party... what a mensch.  I'm gonna miss him while he's on his exchange year in ( Read more... )

The dude in a tight purple tee at American Apparel is explaining to me how the cotton/poly blend shirt he is wearing, which costs a bit more than the $15 cotton tees, is much more durable - he's washed it a dozen times and it's still in great shape.  I point out a little stain near his belly and mention that it probably needs another wash.  He ( Read more... )
