I am lonely. That sentence can be read as a desire for attention or social interaction, but neither holds any appeal for me. The little contact I am forced to have (other than those of you reading this, obviously, or I would not be posting it) holds no appeal for me. I am lonely, yet I recoil from the company of others.

Really? That's what all the Calvinists are into now? I confess I had absolutely no idea.

Today was better. So much better. I had only one student to help, and she was excellent. Since it was a slow day, I started reading Vanessa Diffenbaugh's The Language of Flowers and ended up staying almost an hour late just to finish. (Yep, one sitting: it was that good.)
