“Oy! Mate!” Spike calls after me as I’m on my way to my office.

And I’m not stomping or storming of anything of the kind. I have some dignity left. Stupid twit has cost me quite some time already and I’m not about to loose more. Really now.

“She aint goin’ back to work, y’know. You gonna let that slide?” Spike walks right through my door and then out again to stop me from going in.

“What are you talking about, Spike?” I want to know.

“Harm!” He snorts, flailing his arms about. There’s something rather disconcerting about a vampire like Spike flailing his arms. “She’s gonna go home and not do what you said. You’re a lousy boss, no authority what so ever. Can’t even tell someone like Harm what to do.”

Sighing, I glare at him and once again wonder why I’m always the one who has to deal with the vampires. Be it Harmony or Spike *or* Angel. And why isn’t Spike off to pester Angel anyway? “Why aren’t you bothering Angel,” I ask tiredly.

“You been getting any sleep lately?” Spike suddenly asks, which tells me he’s avoiding the whole Angel subject.

“None of your business. Now if you don’t mind. I’ve a lot of work to do, and since Harmony already useless spend up a lot of time….”

“The bint who’s getting a way and not doin’ her job,” Spike says for clarification no doubt. “She’s a handful and she’s gonna walk all over you. Quick! You can still catch her and give her a whatfor! C’mon mate, be a man! You gonna let some vampire chick walk all over you?”

Slumping, I glanced at the lift as it went down and then back at Spike again. “She’s already gone Spike,” why was he bothering with this anyway?

“No worries mate,” he grinned that particular grin of his. “I’ll go get her for you and then you can give her the lecture, kay?”

“No, Spike. Really that’s….” The vampire in question shimmered a bit and then disappeared from view. I don’t know where he went, presumably to pester Harmony, but I didn’t care. I had work to do. Exhausted, I opened the door to my office and slunk inside, wincing at the amount of papers on my desk. “Bugger all.…” Looks like I was going to be stuck in my office for quite a while. And no matter what Harmony thought about my going home to do this sleeping thing, I didn’t see that happening any time soon.

Well, I hope the vampires will have fun at least. Twits. Both of them. No, all three of them.

We never did find that pen did we? Oh well. "Now, where was I," I muttered, sitting down and slidding my pen out of my pocket.
