+ summer reading is o-v-e-r! only a week before kids go back to school, and i'll probably start grumping about the after school crowd, but still.

+ new issue of blueprint. it isn't as swoon-worthy as others, but it still made me happy ( Read more... )

Today was the first day of school here, which means after school computer drama. I miss the summer crowd already.

But I'm excited for my new craft series which will be a monthly craft program based on books. So far we'll be making black cat pillows (Black Cat), no cook candy (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), and stained glass windows (Sword in the Stone). I had so much fun coming up with ideas for this that I already have things planned through next year.

I'm afraid I bought all the good shit at the LVIS this morning, but you can have it, because heaven knows I don't need any more books.

Did Gonzalez actually resign? Without the Daily Show, I have to get all my news from you.

The Larry Craig thing was well timed too. The poor, hypocritical bastard.

i dunno, billy. i don't need any more books either. but i will probably buy some anyway. i am not worried about the coffers being empty though, because i have rather lower taste than you, so i'm sure i might find something.

in the absence of the daily show i am, shockingly, listening to cnn in the background (although i confess if there was something half-interesting and reality based on tv right now, i'd probably be half-tuning in to that) and they are talking about old mister craig.

I swear that every time Stewart and Colbert go on vacation, something big and full of comic potential happens in politics.

it certainly seems that way, which lends credence to my the theory that the conservatives are paying much more attention to comedy central than they are willing to admit.

but it pisses me off that it comes out every two months.

also, i want to be just like that preppy bohemian page.

i know! i was so happy to buy it yesterday after work, but the little "keep on the shelf until 10/29/2007" mocked me and made it all so bittersweet.

and yes, to the preppy bohemian spread. i am especially feeling that dress. and skirt. and coat and gloves. oh gosh - does that mean we are preppy bohemians? i will fess up to the preppie, but i don't think anyone has ever deemed my style (or lack thereof) as boho.

same. if i am boho at all, it is in the "BOy HOw unstylish can one girl be" variety. but i still have (lofty) aspirations. thanks, blueprint!

i like to picture john seeing the news on the first day of vacation, in his jammies drinking orange juice, saying "damn!"
